During my years in church, and as a child of God, I have worked in about every area of ministry. With the children, I was a Bible class teacher, director children’s church, director of children’s choir and drama. I also have worked with the teen agers as a Bible class teacher, director of youth department, and director of the youth choir and drama. I have taught Bible classes for all ages of adults and also directed adult choir and drama groups. My favorite for the past few years has been the adults. I find it challenging to keep them interested in learning more about the Word. I worked and studied for ways to keep it interesting. Most of them have been in church for many years and had heard it taught many time by many different people.

The first month after high school graduation, I started college as a music major in secondary education, but God changed the direction of my life and I entered nurses training. I completed my nurses training and I worked as an R.N. for 45 years. Most of that was in top management. I was a hands on director and enjoyed what I did.

At the age of 20 I married Mike Richardson and we had three children. When we were 44 years old, we, with our family, moved to Houston. We moved here mostly to help some friends of ours that had started a new storefront ministry. The pastors kept telling us they needed our help and would we please move to Houston and help them. It took almost a year before we made the final decision and knew that was God was directing us to do. Those were some of the best years of our lives. It was a definite time of spiritual growth. We worked in various areas of the church as needed including preaching the Word when the main pastors were out of town.

We had been married almost 51 years when we were in an automobile accident. Mike did not survive the accident and I was left with severe injuries to my lower feet and legs. It has been two and half years and I am still having problems with my legs and continue to develop complications. But I can honestly say that God has been faithful to me during this time of my life.
I also taught surgical technology at the health branch of Houston Community College. For close to 20 years, I served on the advisory and admission boards and I received a special plaque with recognition for my contribution to the program.

After my retirement from nursing, I followed God’s direction and entered a program to be trained as a hospital chaplain. The last year of my training I worked at a cancer clinic and quickly and fell in love with the cancer patients. I intend to do more of that type of work. The clinic is holding my spot until I can return.

I have studied for the regular ministry as well as the chaplaincy. I am presently a licensed minister but I will be ordained as a minister in April of 2011.

I have been writing for several years and enjoy it. As I share it, I find it very rewarding. I have written poetry, daily devotionals, and short stories. I usually write things I can share with other people. I have compiled some of my writings into a coil bound book but I am in the process of checking to see about getting it printed.

Dr. Sharon Schuetz has been in full-time ministry for over twenty-years. She is an ordained minister and has been both Senior Pastor and Co-pastor alone side her husband, Michael. She is a member of Cambridge Who’s Who registry of executives, professionals and entrepreneurs. They have been married for 34 years and have three children and nine grandchildren.

She graduated in 1991 from Calvary Bible College with a bachelor in Religious Education and she earned her master and PhD in Christian Counseling Psychology from Cornerstone University, Lake Charles in 1993 and 1998, respectively. When she graduated from Cornerstone University, the school hired her as their administrator, where she served for two years. While at Cornerstone University she served as the Womens Ministry Director for the Inter-Faith Baptist Convention’s Womens Ministries.

Sharon was a member of Central Committee, for District Youth Directors, while serving as the New Mexico District Youth President for the Pentecostal Church of God. She served at youth camp for nine years, from counselor, activities director, to the camp director. Dr. Schuetz and her husband counseled for the Four Corner’s Home for Children in Farmington, New Mexico. This was the largest children’s home in New Mexico and the Four Corners region. They counseled abused and neglected children ranging from ages six to seventeen. The Schuetz’ have helped hundreds of couples learn to communicate and to build stronger relationships through one-on-one counseling, seminars, workshops, conferences, retreats, books, etc.

They can relate to the pain found in many of today’s families. Together, the Schuetz family overcame gang violence, drug, alcohol, and other addictions. They personally experienced the pain of a broken family, learned what it takes to pull through, and now see the joy following the healing process. They have applied the principles in God’s Word, where they fought to secure their own children’s trust, friendship, and souls.

Now they apply these principles and their life experiences to help hurting families work through the healing process. The Schuetz family firmly believes that God needs strong families, and that Christians must assign a higher value on this faltering institution. If you ask any of them, they will unanimously tell you, their ministry is: “Building Families in the Family of God.”

I was born in Puerto Rico, November 20,1956. I grew up in Southern California, raised in a religious home. I dropped out of school and had to go to work at 15 to support myself. I married at 18, was bless to have two children a son and a daughter and now three grandchildren. I decided to go back to school when I was 27 to get my high school diploma. I then attended the Nazarene Bible College getting my degree in Theology and Christian counseling in 1994..

I worked under Pastor Ray Sander for 10 years at Abundant Life, in Yucaipa, CA. I was taught about the true love of God by him. I am a prayer warrior, worked in the healing rooms, and soaking prayer. When Pastor Ray Sanders retired, I started my own church Everlasting Light Ministries. I have been given the gift of writing, I write devotions every day, poetry, play the guitar and sing. The Lord laid it on my heart many years ago to help the orphans. So I started another corporation called The Carpenters Children. This is a desire of my heart to open a facility to house abused children, and teach them the love of God. My goal is to reach out to the children and help them with their education, and offer them a safe loving home.
